Back in Australia

Mitchell has since returned back to his native land of Australia, to get working to fund what will hopefully be his turning point year in his career. He resumed work only 2 days after arriving home but an even better feat was the fact Mitchell actually went for a ride on his speedway bike on the day he touched down in Australia after a 27 hour flight!

Initially his practice was meant to be just a ride, however he ended up testing a few new things in the session and will continue to do so in up and coming sessions to perfect the smaller things associated with racing and also to get back to being his confident young self on the bike.

We have had no confirmations yet as to which meetings Mitchell will compete in, however please stay tuned to find out more updates on Mitchell from down under!

Winter Update

Well it has been a while since we have had a news update and we here at Mitchell Davey Racing apologise for this. The news so far for the winter has been quiet, the phone has not been ringing as much as Mitchell would have liked however he is looking at the positives of possibly being left without a team place for the 2012 season. "Although I have stayed in the UK longer this year, it has given me the opportunity to go over all my equipment and sort what I may need, if I get another call up in the middle of the season." Said Mitchell earlier this week.

Mitchell is planning to head back to Australia shortly after Christmas and New Year and plans to get riding as soon as possible to enable him to iron out the problems that he has faced over the years racing in the UK. A few people may or may not have realised that Mitchell's racing directly lies in his confidence levels, so a lot of off track help and advice needs to be undertaken to enable Mitchell to ride to his full potential more frequently.

Mitchell blew his best engine whilst on the last away tour of the season while winning heat 2 at Rye House comfortably, which dropped his head majorly for the remaining races of the season.

"I'm going to get back working as soon as I arrive home and if I need to stay in Australia longer than normal, but still come over during the season, I am willing to do that as I will be able to invest more heavily in my equipment even though it is already at a really high standard. I wish to get some more engines and bikes which will allow me a variety for all the different tracks in the UK."

It has not been a good season by any standards but there was some encouraging signs for Mitchell, his performance at Somerset being the standout, however these will be overshadowed by his poor performances from the half season that he completed.

"I really wish I had the full season to race, because although I had raced with the new silencer before getting a shot in the Premier League, I had competed in 3 or 4 meetings come my start for Berwick on June 1st. I was very much behind the 8-ball when it came to setups and also getting upto Premier speed. But I had to just do my best."

And finally from all of us at Mitchell Davey Racing, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Sponsors Needed

Mitchell has sent out a plea to ask for sponsorship or even to ask for contact details of companies of whom you may think are interested in getting involved in speedway.

Since moving club and also not having a club at the start of the season, Mitchell has found sponsors hard to come by and really needs the help and support to maintain and improve his already high standard race equipment.

So if you can help in anyway please contact the team at the following email address.
